This series for the U.S. Postal Service is very special to me and Kathie.  Thanks to the wonderful art direction of Ethel Kessler, the research by Photo Assist, and the help and support of Terry McCaffrey, USPS, and Dave Failor, USPS.
HAWAIIAN RAIN FOREST 2010

 

Over the course of twelve years, John produced a series of stamp sets for the U.S. Postal Service illustrating the flora and fauna of a dozen different U.S. geographical regions. The final set in this series is a depiction of The Hawaiian Rainforest; John and Kathie's own "backyard".

More than 200 people, including stamp enthusiasts, area residents, park officials and an array of federal, state and local politicians, gathered to celebrate the unveiling of the 12th and final addition to the Nature in America postal stamp series.
